An upstate woman from South Carolina had to be hospitalized for several days after visiting a nail salon for a manicure.Her injuries caused her extreme pain, swelling, and itching in her fingernails and fingertips. These injuries prevented her from doing daily tasks, and she decided to go to the hospital where she was admitted for a bacterial infection.
The woman claims that the bacterial infection is due to the salon’s inability to keep up with sanitary codes. The nail salon has not been named, because the nail salon has not yet undergone investigation to insure that they are the cause of this woman’s pain and suffering.
Nail experts say that, upon entering a nail salon, one should check to make sure all sanitary items are in individual packages, or ask if they have been cleaned since their last use; asking questions if you are uncomfortable is acceptable.
