High School Student Killed in DUI

On the morning on December 6, 2013, a male sophomore was struck by a drunk driver on Old Barnwell Road in South Carolina. Apparently he was on his way to school when the driver crossed over into the teenager’s lane, hitting him head on. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver’s life has also been forever changed.

Alcohol-impaired drivers accounted for nearly 40 percent of all driving related deaths in South Carolina, killing a total of 314 people in 2011. In fact in 2012, over 14,000 DUI arrests were made in the state of South Carolina alone. This epidemic can be stopped. Driving drunk is dangerous, not just to the one drinking and driving, but to unsuspecting drivers on the road with the drunk driver.

Don’t be fooled. Just because you aren’t drinking, doesn’t mean you can’t be involved in a drunk driving accident. If you or someone you know has been injured due to another driver’s irresponsibility or neglect, call Bill Green.
