Teenager dies saving her little brother

Halloween is usually a night spent parading around in costumes and then going home to fill up on candy. Most children’s worst fears on Halloween are either ghosts, goblins, or a stomach ache. But not for one family.

On October 31, 2013, a young girl died as a result of being hit by a car. She was taking her brother trick-or-treating when they crossed a road, and a car came and hit her, causing her to be transported to the hospital and later to pass away. Her brother recalls her grabbing his hand and pulling him to safety before the car struck his sister. Their mother describes her 17 year old daughter as selfless, driven, and faithful. She died a hero to her family.

Don’t let something tragic like this happen to you. Remember, if you are walking at night, wear bright clothes and something reflective or carry a flashlight.
